Overwhelming response for child custody of Texas baby

Wednesday, June 20, 2018

What could have been a tragic ending for a Texas infant may have a happy ending after all. The baby was found abandoned and inside of a plastic bag. Fortunately, a woman discovered the infant while outside walking her dog. Several people have lined up and have expressed an interest in gaining child custody of the little girl.

The child had reportedly just been born a couple of hours before she was found. CPS is attempting to track down her family, but many people have already begun contacting the local children's center to ask how they can adopt her. A program manager for the center has stated the little girl has captured hearts across the local area, but emphasized the fact that thousands of other children are still waiting for their forever home.

It is believed that someone who is already going through the adoption process will be the one to gain permanent custody of the infant. The process is expected to take about nine months. Anyone interested in adoption may want to research the process before beginning because it has the potential to be a lengthy and sometimes expensive process.

Texas residents interested in seeking child custody of a disadvantaged or abandoned infant, or who wish to pursue a private adoption, may want to consider requesting the assistance of a knowledgeable party. Not all adoptions will need the intervention of a legal team. However, when a parent is pursuing a private or independent adoption, it may be helpful to have someone available to guide one throughout the process to ensure there are no future problems with child custody.
