Divorce issues for Bo Duke

Monday, July 16, 2018

The former star of a wildly popular television show is facing a divorce, according to entertainment news. Texas residents will no doubt remember John "Bo Duke" Schneider, of Dukes of Hazzard fame. Schneider's wife has filed for divorce in their home state. Divorce issues for individuals in the public eye can be more complicated than for average citizens, but many of them remain the same.

The two, who have been married for 21 years, are set to divorce once the paperwork goes through. Schneider's wife, Elvira "Elly" Schneider, reportedly cited irreconcilable differences when she filed for divorce in November of this year. There has been no further word from either side about what the specifics of the divorce will entail.

The couple has three adult children, negating the need for child custody and support agreements, but it seems likely that alimony will be a divorce issue the couple faces. Schneider was immensely successful during his tenure on "The Dukes of Hazzard" and has since gone on to appear in a number of other important shows, including "Smallville." Given the popularity of these shows, asset division will likely be an issue the couple will have to deal with as part of their separation agreement.

Divorce issues like alimony, asset division and child support are endemic to almost any divorce, as some Texas residents are aware. However, no matter how high-profile a divorce might be, the individuals involved can always benefit from some semblance of support. From legal advice to emotional counseling, options for couples of any status are available throughout the state.
