Guns 'n Roses guitar player faces divorce issues

Sunday, June 24, 2018

Celebrity divorce always garners more attention than the separation of others because of the tendency for the wealthy and well-known to spend time in the public spotlight. Texas rock and roll fans may not be surprised, then, to note that famed guitarist Slash of the band Guns 'n Roses is currently embroiled in just such a proceeding. While the divorce issues faced by popular entertainers can be somewhat more complicated than those of the average individual, the root of those issues often remains consistent across the spectrum.

The divorce papers were filed on Dec. 30 in a court local to Slash, whose real name is Saul Hudson, and his wife Perla. The couple have been married for 13 years, though not all of those years were a representation of marital bliss as this is their second separation in three years. Slash previously filed for divorce in 2010, though it seems the couple reconciled, at least for a time.

The couple has two male children, aged 10 and 12 respectively. As minors, their sons will be the subject of child custody and support negotiations. It also seems likely considering Slash's incredible career success that asset division will also figure prominently in any divorce settlement the couple seeks to negotiate.

Few Texas residents can claim the prestige and wealth of a famous rock star, but that does not mean the divorce issues faced by Slash and his wife are totally alien to the experiences of the average person. Child custody and asset division are issues any couple might face in a divorce proceeding. Thankfully, support and advice on dealing with these issues is available across the state for anyone seeking it out -- rock star or not.
